2010 is here and the Riders 4 Christ are everywhere. Greg Hartman is on the Gravity Slashers tour so we asked him to give us the inside line

What's up with Greg Hartman?
I took a month off for Christmas. Which was great and now I’m headed back to touring full time on the Gravity Slashers tour. I've also been serious about riding regularly, training more, and hopefully making more trips to California for 2010.

Tell me about the Gravity Slashers tour?
The Gravity Slashers is one of Feld entertainments new nationwide indoor arena freestyle tours. Our first event only had a one day move in so they didn't have time to build the whole course, but next weekend in Salt Lake we're supposed to have four takeoff ramps, people jumping side by side, and a script to follow.

Where can we see it?
We're doing 9 major cities from Sacramento, CA to Cleveland, OH so hopefully there's one closed to people who want to come.  You're kind of out of luck if you're in the South East, but I think Jimmie's tour is doing some there!

Who's on it?
It's like me, Rich Kearns, Derek Burlew, Sean Nielson, Brody Wilson, Dustin “Wacker” Nowak, Drake McElroy and Julian Dusseau. Jack Rowe was supposed to be on it, but broke his wrist last week.

What’s your favorite part of this tour?
My favorite part is knowing that for the next three months I'm in America!  I've done so many international events lately. It feels good to be speaking English. Plus shows in arena's are exciting for riders and crowds alike and we always get to talk on the mike and I get to tell the crowd that I'm into God.

Least Favorite Part of it?
Arena's being too small!

How have the crowds been?
So far all the seats were filled. It's always rad when you're riding so close to the people.


Any last words?
Thanks to anyone who prays for Riders 4 Christ and I want you to know it means more to me than anything else in my career.  Contests, international demos, or appearances don't mean a thing compared to sharing Christ with kids that are stoked on motocross.

MMA Event at Del Mar by Jef Groff

This event was a two day demo at the Del Mar Expo center. We were asked to do this event for the Mixed Martial Arts expo. With this being a secular event we were asked to do strictly just entertainment. However, the Lord had something special in store that weekend, for me, Destin Cantrell, Dan Norris, and Dustin Nowak, aka “Wacker.”

Saturday was our first demo day and the weather was extremely nice. The wind was calm and all was pretty quiet. Brock Loza and Dan Norris had set up the ramps Friday night until 1am, allowing the rest of us to arrive right before the first warm up show. While I was unloading all the PA system/stereo equipment, two guys from the event crew came up to me asking what I needed help with. When I was talking with them, a few MMA fans came up asking me our show times, and what riders were there. They are fans of FMX, and know our faces, so it was a pleasure talking with them. The next thing I knew my wife and I were being prayed over by these two guys, as one is a pastor. Everything from that point on seemed to work out well for the rest of the day. We had three perfect packed shows filled with back flips, testimonies by Dan Norris calling people to repentance boldly, and three awesome autograph sessions.

Sunday started with terrible weather, being that it rained overnight, along with extreme wind, which greatly affected the attendance. Warm up practice was canceled due to rain. First show was canceled because of 30+ mph winds however, right before lunch the event coordinator came over to our area with a whole slew of people including a camera crew and a family. With her, was Make A Wish Foundation with a boy named Connor, who is a fan of ours and MMA, so it was a double whammy of AWESOME! After being introduced to Connor and his family we found out that Connor has been fighting brain cancer for some time now and recently has been in remission. To top it off, they were all Christians! The day was cloudy, and still very windy, but getting the opportunity to meet this amazing kid, who is fighting a terrible disease, was a huge blessing to our hearts, and the day overall. When the event coordinator asked me to pray for him, everyone gathered close to Connor as I placed my hand on his shoulder and prayed. The moment was intense, as we felt the Lord surrounding us. As I closed in prayer, we all lifted our heads to find the weather very different and sunny with rays bursting upon us. It was so surreal, as I have never experienced this before. The power that was in the air was so strong, because Christ was with us. Destin offered to give Connor a ride on his bike along with Dan and Dustin giving other Make A Wish kids a ride as well.

This encouraging event really inspired the guys to do an amazing show, as now it was clear that we were no longer there just as entertainment, but because we are Riders 4 Christ, as a ministry. Throwing caution to the wind, and I mean literally as it was still gusting, but the guys just wanted to do a show! I advised otherwise, however, the two strokes were revving, and after a couple of Destin’s whips, and Nowak’s back flips, it was a full blown show!!

The crowd might have not seen the best conditions, but we cannot replace the love, grace, and encouragement we all experienced this weekend. I have since been contacted by several people who attended, telling me how special and refreshing it was to see us there, and speaking the Gospel so boldly. All the hassle’s and light afflictions we faced can’t compare to the wealth of blessings received for being faithful. This is why I am a part of Riders 4 Christ and the high calling of being a Christian.

PRAY FOR JEREMY LUSK

As Jeremy Lusk was competing in Costa Rica, he under rotated a hart attack flip. When he hit the ground his bike tackled him, which forced his head and neck to bend in a way that the human body is not meant to bend. August 15, 2008 started the 18 days of demos at the California State Fair in Sacramento, CA. Riders 4 Christ riders Destin Cantrell and Jimmie McGuire joined by friend and local boy Jesse Jolsen threw down for an incredible 54 shows heres the photos and the story.

Jimmie being the veteran of the California state fair with Destin and Jesse coming back for their second year in a row. All were excited to put on 54 good shows in a row. The trip started out with good weather with temperatures reaching up to a scorching 107 degrees the boys were riding amazing with everyone having a blast. Wasn't to long till the riders got a break though due to crazy Sacramento winds that were reaching a constant 25mph and gusting up to 35mph. Windy days weren't all that bad though thanks to Raging Waters giving everyone free passes to go on some water slides YEAH. Raging waters and 100+ degree temperatures are a match made in heaven. 54 Demos can take it's toll the best riders and the trip went on slowly but surely day by day with every few days getting canceled due to wind. As the end of the trip was approaching the riders were excited to come home to friends and family. It's always bitter sweet when you are checking out of the hotel after a long trip or even a short weekend. Riding in front of people you get attached to them, you form a bond with the community you are performing in. Unfortunately the trip was cut short when last two days of jumping got canceled due to wind gusts over 40mph.

KYLE LOZA TAKES GOLD IN X GAMES MOTO X BEST TRICK FINAL X GAMES 14

"Electric Doom" wows crowd & judges alike at X Games 14 as Kyle Loza Takes Gold in Moto X Best Trick Final for unprecedented 2nd Year in a row.

LOS ANGELES, California (August 1, 2008)— Defending champion, Kyle Loza landed 'Electric Doom' and took home the highest honors in the Moto X Best Trick Final Thursday night (July 31st). Loza, headlined the aggressive group of Moto X riders competing, in front of a sold out STAPLES giving them Center plenty to cheer about as he brought his best to the 2008 X Games 14 competition. The sultry, tatted and pierced Loza took care of business on his first and only run as he dominated the competition scoring an impressive 94.4 with his unique trick and a place in the X Games annals. Loza, the new kid on the block, was invited to compete at X Games 13 last year on the sheer strength of his abilities alone and rode off with his first gold medal. Loza once again found gold this year— albeit this time it was buried in a tunnel behind some jersey barriers. The feat that propelled Kyle Loza into the history books as the first rider to ever win back-to-back gold medals in X Games Moto X Best Trick was formerly entitled "Electric Death". Loza joked in a pre-jump interview that, "If I land it, I'm gonna rename it Electric Doom because Electric Death was for when I crashed and I think it's bad luck." No bad luck for this dynamo. So 'Death' becomes 'Doom' and this Orange County, CA native raises the bar in the sport for the second year in a row. Aside from his two gold accolades, he also won silver at the inaugural X Games Mexico in September, 2007. Joplin Youth Center takes boys to see freestyle motocross
Troubled teens get a positive experience in Lake Forest for being well behaved at Trabuco Canyon center. By REBECCA BROWN | CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS HERE

The Electric Death, the Kiss of Death, and the Dead Body were just some of the freestyle motocross tricks that incarcerated teenagers from the Joplin Youth Center in Trabuco Canyon got to see performed on a dirt lot below Saddleback Church in Lake Forest on Tuesday, April 22.

The Joplin boys were invited by motocross professionals called "Riders for Christ" who travel the globe performing outlandish stunts on dirt bikes.

"I have never seen anything like this in my whole life, not even on TV," said one of the Joplin teens. "It's cool to see them do crazy things that are actually good, and gives back to the community at the same time."

The 13 boys, ranging in age from 12 to 16, were brought to the event for good behavior. They are among 64 teenage Joplin Center residents who were convicted of a crime and are serving their sentence at the facility.

Rodger Bendinelli, a therapist from Joplin, said many of the kids are gang members.

"Activities such as this is a chance for these kids to see the world outside of their neighborhoods. We see this as positive reinforcement that helps teach the kids to make better choices," Bendinelli said.

The four motocross riders astonished the crowd each time they took off on their motorcycles from the dirt runway and hit a metal ramp which forced their bikes 75 feet into the air and back down again.

Kyle Loza, an X-Game Gold Medalist, showed the boys his newest trick called the Electric Death, a stunt that requires the rider to come off the bike, do a back flip, and sit back down on the bike before landing into a foam pit.

Watching Loza flip off his bike in the air and drop to the pit below was a thrill that had the Joplin boys yelling out cat calls and wanting more from the freestyle team as they continued with numerous aerial maneuvers during the two-hour fieldtrip.

Dirt bike enthusiast, Dan Williams, volunteers for the free-style motocross team in an effort to help the team reach out to the local community.

"These riders have an amazing platform to work from. It allows them to draw in a crowd, amaze them with their talents then share a positive message of living a life of purpose," Williams said.

At the close of the exhibition, rider Jimmie McGuire shared with the troubled teens the importance of choosing right over wrong and the hope for a better life.

"Jumping allows us to show these kids that Christians are not all dorky and just go to church. We can do things like moto-x, skateboarding, and be cool," McGuire said.

The Joplin teens were given t-shirts, autographed posters, and spent time talking one-on-one with the riding team before heading back to the Joplin Ranch.

October 13th marked one of the biggest shows in RIVC's history. The Livin It Alliance presented the 1st ever Orange County Festival in San Juan, California. RIVC team riders; Greg Hartman, Jimmie McGuire, Destin Cantrel, Justin Newman, Robert Distler, Kyle Loza, and Dan Norris were on hand to put on a great show and share The Good News about Jesus Christ. This event was the first time the entire team has ever jumped together.

The day started out rocky as the team woke up to wet streets and a dark grey sky. It looked as if the show wouldn't go on. In hope of being able to put on the show the team continued with setup and preparation. Just like Summerfest in San Clemente, the rain stopped, the ramps dried, and the show went on.

The Stunt Dudes BMX team, KKSM skate team, and a number of bands were also there to perform. Professional skater, Christian Hosoi gave his powerful testimony, which God used to change many peoples hearts. Over all God was present and his plan was fulfilled.

Please pray for Newman, Hartman, and McGuire, they are jumping in an outreach on the east coast this Saturday the 27th.

Here we go again!

X Games round 2? That’s right! Kyle will be heading down to Mexico City this weekend to compete in the Mexico X Games at the Palacio de los Deportes. He will be competing in not one but two events! Kyle will make another appearance in Moto X Best Trick and appear for the first time in the Step Up competition!!


Please keep Kyle and his family in your prayers as they travel down to Mexico for the event!

Hey R4C family!

Sunday August 26th, Riders 4 Christ riders Kyle Loza and Dan NAD Norris were joined by Arizona native and friend Robert Distler for an amazing show which took place in San Clemente.

Saddleback San Clemente put on its 2nd annual Endless Summerfest this past Sunday which included a Moto X Show, Skate Demo, live music and a classic car show.

The morning started off a little shaky. As volunteers gathered to get the event set up they were greeted by bad weather that included rain, thunder and lightening. It looked as though the Summerfest would have to go on without the Moto X Show and Skate Demo because the ramps for both groups were to wet after the rain had stopped. Not only did the Lord provide sunny skies but many people stepped up to mop up the ramps and blow dry the asphalt. We missed our first of two shows, but were still able to deliver in our only show as the even came to a close.


Jimmie and Destin are doing awesome and have been in Sacramento, California riding at the State Fair!!

Congratulations and thank you Lord! Kyle owned Thursday night at the Staples Center when he unveiled the "Volt."
It was a pretty intense night, Kyle landed the highly anticipated body varial on his first run, putting him into 1st place within the first 10 minutes of the competition. Even though the other riders were bringin their A-game, Kyle was untouchable and Moto X Best Trick finished with Kyle winning gold!


For weeks before X Games our RIVC family supported Kyle with an immense amount of prayer. We would first off like to thank all of you who kept Kyle in your prayers as he prepared for this truly amazing event. We would also like to share with you the thoughts and prayers that God had put onto our hearts during the weeks prior to X Games. Tuesday night before X Games we gathered together with our good friends at Truth Soul Armor for a bible study and prayer meeting to lift Kyle up as a community before he ventured up to Los Angeles. As the night progressed it seemed apparent that God wanted Kyle to hear and know Joshua 1:9. Jimmie and Pastor Pat both prepared short messages to encourage Kyle, ironically both included Joshua 1:9. It truly seemed to be the verse for the week and for Kyle. So we would like to share that verse with you, the rest of our RIVC family!!

This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

We would also like to keep you updated on Jimmie's health status. Jimmie crashed about a week and a half ago, hurting 4 ribs, puncturing his lung and re-injuring his spline. But God has really been taking care of Jimmie since. Jimmie showed up at our prayer meeting at Truth only a couple days after getting out of the hospital and also came out to X Games to support his brother Kyle. Please keep Jimmie in your prayers!!

Drum roll please!! R4C is pleased to announce that wild child Kyle Loza has been officially invited to the X Games. Read it again if you want its right Kyle will be competing in best trick at X Games 13 slated for August 3rd 2007 this summer at Staples Center in Los Angeles, Ca. This is a great honor and Kyle is very excited to be on the list special note Kyle is on the first round of invitees. The way it works is a panel from EXPN, MXI, riders and insiders decide on 10 riders from a international field of competitors. It is an honor to be chosen to participate in X Games and even more so to be in the first 5. When he got the news Kyle said "No way!" then he couldn't stop smiling and he is still smiling right now.
There is lot's to do to get ready but Kyle is committed to giving it 110%. With some big news of his own, Jimmie McGuire wed girlfriend Janelle on the 19th of May with Dan McGranahan and Kyle Loza in the court, Britt Merrick officiating and Justin Newman, Dan Norris and Destin Cantrell on hand to celebrate it was a full R4C family affair and celebrate we did with Newman showing off his moves all over the dance floor (stick to riding Justin).
Congratulations Jimmie and Janelle! They are on there honeymoon in Maui till the end of the month then its right back on the bike for Jimmie when he joins Kyle, Newman and new to the demo crew Greg Hartman for a demo in Hemet, Ca on June 1st and 2nd.
Jimmie had some Paintball battles for his bachelor party and the crew loved it Nate Adams, Brian Foster, Logan Darien, Ryan Morris, Dan McGranahan, Ryan Johnson, Kyle Loza, Clayton Sandman and Tim Loza to name a few.
Joined Jimmie for an all out assault style paintball war Jimmie being the ninja he is was on top of his game Loza was sniping everyone and Nate was the terminator don't be surprised if you see this crew at a paintball field near you soon every one had a blast.
